This could be the best choice for daily use. It is a centrifugal juicer equipped with juicer jug and pulp collection jug. It is BPA free and the mode of extracting juice provides one with a completely healthy and refreshing drink.

Material:

Cup Material: The juicer jug and the pulp collection jug are made of ABS — a common thermoplastic polymer.

Blade Material: The steel cutting disc is made of food-grade stainless steel. All the materials that come in contact with the food are BPA free. It also consists of a micro-mesh.

Power: It consists of two-speed modes — low speed and fast speed. Low speed is for soft fruits or vegetables like oranges, grapes, melons, tomatoes, etc while the fast speed is for hard fruits or vegetables like apples, carrots, beetroot, ginger, etc.

Noise Frequency: This juicer has a small machine so it doesn’t make much noise as compared to other juicers.

Base: It is more stable as compared to other juicers. It has non-slip rubber feet giving it more stability.

Usage: It has a 3-inch wide feed chute. Therefore, prep time is reduced as whole fruits and vegetables can be fed without cutting or slicing. There is a large capacity for the pulp container and collector.

Efficiency: The two-speed modes help to extract juice as desired. As compared to other juicers, it can extract 25% more juice and 35% more vitamins and minerals. It has an advanced technology of centrifugal extraction system.

Assembly: All the parts are detachable. They can easily be assembled and disassembled. It consists of removable parts like the food pusher, juicer cover, stainless steel strainer, pulp bin, and strainer bowl.

Safety: The juicer has a very good safety mechanism. It will not start until all the parts are accurately assembled. It will not start without fruit or vegetables being put in. It can also automatically shut down if it is overloaded. It also has an overheat protection mechanism.

While using the machine, take care that it is not run for more than two minutes at a time for it will be bad for the motor which could damage before its time period.

Also do not place hard material, ice, frozen food or very large seeds into the feed chute as they would damage the machine.

Cleaning: It is dishwasher safe. All the parts which can be disassembled can easily be cleaned. The parts which cannot be detached can easily be cleaned with the cleaning brush provided.

Pros
  • BPA free
  • Made of Stainless steel
  • Pulp collection jug available
  • Two-speed motor -- slow and fast
  • Detachable parts
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Automatic shut down mechanism
  • 3-inch wide feed chute
Cons
  • Ice or large seeds cannot be used
  • Cannot run constantly

2. Hamilton Beach Pro

  • Powerful motor
  • 3-inches Wide Feedchute
  • Frothy Juice
KitchenFaction Rating
4.5

Hamilton Beach juicer is a centrifugal juicer that can process hard ingredients along with citrus fruits. It has a 3-inch wide feed chute and a separate large pulp collector. Unfortunately, it is not made of BPA free material.

Material: It is made of plastic which is not BPA free.

Power: It consists of a powerful motor for extracting maximum juice. With a power of 800W, the hard ingredients like dense beets can be ground into smooth juice in seconds.

Noise Frequency: Its noise level is very high.

Base: Rubber stoppers are placed at the bottom but they do not give it much stability for they tend to fall off easily. The machine also jolts a lot while juicing.

Usage: Since only the plastic parts need assembling, it is easy to use this juicer. Prep time is reduced as it has a 3-inch wide chute so cutting of the fruits or vegetables is not a hassle. It can extract juice from hard fruits or vegetables like pineapple, cucumber, garlic, cauliflower, etc. and citrus fruits like orange, lemon, grapefruit, etc. This juicer is not good for leafy green vegetables.

Efficiency: As compared to other juicers, this machine can make a large amount of juice but the pulp extracted is wet. The pulp can be used again to get the juice out of it. The quality of the juice is not bad but not as great in comparison to cold-press juicers. Since it has a high-speed motor, the oxidation breaks down the nutrients in the juice. This is also a reason for the frothy juice that comes out of the centrifugal juicers.

Assembly: All the plastic parts are detachable.

Cleaning: All the parts are dishwasher safe except the motor at the base. It would be easier to clean if it is washed immediately after extracting the juice. The pulp collector is the most tiresome to clean. It would be easier to clean it if some plastic bag is placed in it which can be discarded after use.

Pros
  • Good for hard ingredients & citrus fruits
  • 3-inch wide feed chute
  • Reduced prep time
  • Extracts juice in seconds
  • Large pulp collector available
  • Pulp can be reused for juicing
Cons
  • Not BPA free
  • Loud noise
  • Not good for leafy greens
  • Unstable rubber stoppers

3. Aicok Slow Masticating

Aicok Slow Masticating

  • Food Grade Plastic
  • Quiet Motor
  • Safety Lock Design
  • Reverse Button
KitchenFaction Rating
4.5

Aicok juicer is a relatively new product. It has an elegant design and operates with a one-touch mechanism. It can be used to extract the juice of all kinds of fruits and vegetables like carrot, ginger, apple, and even the leafy greens or white grass.

Material: This juicer has a high-quality build. It is made with BPA free materials and food-grade materials. The motor is made of copper and it has normal as well as reverse function.

Power: The power is 150W and it is quite slow as compared to the other juicers. It makes the juice of fruits and vegetables and provides a great taste.

Noise Frequency: It does not make much noise. The noise level doesn’t exceed 60-decibels.

Base: This juicer has a stable body and can be placed at any flat surface for use.

Usage: Since the feed chute is small, prep time increases and the fruits or vegetables need to be cut or sliced into smaller pieces. Too much pressure should not be applied to the cold-press or it will clog the filter. However, there is a reverse function available to de-clog the filter. The propelling rod should not be pushed hard or the juice production will be less and the machine might get damaged. This machine is not only good for making juices but also for making smoothies and shakes.

Efficiency: The slow rotation of the machine is helpful in making the juice of leafy greens. Since it is slow, the nutrient quality is rich as the masticating juicers grind very thoroughly, enzymes and phytonutrients from fruits and vegetables are preserved and the juice is pure and rich. Since the ingredients are finely ground, there is no froth built and the juice is fresh without any pulp in it. The pulp that is collected is dry. The juice extracted in this manner can be stored for a longer time and the taste is also not affected.  The foam is separated from the juice by the container baffle which makes the juice even tastier.

Assembly: All the parts are detachable. So, it is very easy to assemble disassemble.

Safety: It has a special safety lock design which will only allow the motor to work when the machine is properly and safely locked. It can be conveniently used by children. It is also equipped with a reverse button in case the feed chute is overloaded. If too much fruit is added in the machine and it stops running, take care that you press the ‘off’ button first and then press the ‘reverse’ button.

Cleaning: It is dishwasher safe and it is very easy to clean. It needs very little soap. If you don’t want to use soap and rinse it with warm water, everything slides down conveniently. The brush will be needed to clean the filter piece only.

Pros
  • BPA free
  • Made of food-grade material
  • Noise level is less than 60 decibels.
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Special safety lock design
  • Safe to use by children
Cons
  • Small feed chute
  • Increased prep time

Usage: This multipurpose juicer can help extract the juice from fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens. Not only this, nuts can be ground in it and mixed with butter to make peanut butter, baby food, pasta, grind coffee and spices and grind herbs and garlic. If frozen foods are used excessively, they tend to stick to the sides of the jars making the ingredients difficult to flow.

Efficiency: The efficiency increases due to the dual-stage system powerful motor. This helps to extract maximum juice out of the fruits or vegetables. The juice is froth free and rich in nutrients. This machine is a multipurpose product that can be used for a variety of tasks besides the juicing.

Assembly: All the removable parts are detachable. So, assembling and disassembling the parts are quite easy.

Things to look for before buying!

There are a lot of things to consider while buying a juicer. If you are a beginner and know nothing about juicers then keeping some specifications in mind while buying one may help you in reaching a decision you won’t end up regretting. Essentially, a good juicer should:

  • Be fast and powerful.
  • Be easy to clean.
  • Be easy to assemble or disassemble.
  • Not be too noisy.
  • Not burn all the nutrients.

Buying Guide

What types of juicers are there?

There are certain kinds of juicers available for certain kinds of fruits and vegetables. Basically, a juicer can be of the following types:

  1. Centrifugal
  2. Masticating
  3. Triturating
  4. Citrus

Centrifugal Juicer: If you are juicing thick and hard vegetables and fruits, this type of juicer would be the best option. It has a long chute that can take in big chunks of the ingredients and can make juice in less than a minute. This can also minimize the prep-work which is needed to cut the long and hard vegetables to make their juice. It consists of a mesh chamber that has sharp teeth and can spin very fast to tear down the ingredients to separate the juice. They are very fast, motorized juicers. However, they are not suitable for green leafy vegetables, they are very noisy. and heat is emitted which causes the burning of nutrients and antioxidants in the juice that is extracted. As commented by Nina Ginty on Quora: “the high-speed action of Centrifugal Juicers causes friction which tends to create more heat which can damage or destroy essential nutrients and enzymes in the fruits or vegetables.”

Masticating Juicer: How can you juice hard fruits and vegetables, like apples, or softer ones like strawberries, or leafy green vegetables? And get the same quality of juice? The solution lies with the masticating juicer. In contrast to the centrifugal juicer which is fast, a masticating juicer is termed as a slow juicer. It takes longer to extract juice from fruits and vegetables. Despite this fact, there is little to no heat emission that may destroy the enzymes and antioxidants in the juice. Therefore, the quality of the juice is excellent!

A masticating juicer consists of an auger that is used to crush the ingredients and squeeze them against the chamber to get the juice out. Such types of juicers have a small chute, therefore, the vegetables or fruits need to be cut into small pieces in order to be fed in the chute. This means the vegetables need to be prepared before being fed into the chute which equates to longer preparation time. They are also multipurpose machines as they not only extract juices but can also be used for making sorbets.

Triturating Juicer: If you are looking for something multipurpose that can grind leafy green vegetables, extract the juice of hard or soft fruits and vegetables, and even grind hard roots, then look for a triturating juicer.  In addition to this, some of these machines have a separate kit that can be used for making noodles, grinding nuts and seeds or dicing vegetables.

These juicers have a two-gear assembly so they are also called twin-gear juicers. The two gears are placed quite close to each other and they rotate slowly to grind, squash or squeeze juices from different ingredients. These machines make energetic drinks that are smooth and rich with nutrients.

Unfortunately, triturating juicers are huge and heavy, so they are mostly used for commercial purposes.

Citrus Juicer: If you are fond of having fresh orange juice without making a mess and without tormenting yourself with the clean-up afterward, it’s best to look for a citrus juicer. They come in many types like the vertical hand press, the pressed bowl, the spinning bowl, etc. Similarly, they come in different shapes, sizes, and materials as well. Some are manual and some electric, at a varying cost.

Citrus juicers are basically used for extracting orange juice but many can also extract lime, lemon, grapefruit, and even pomegranate juice. There is no heat generation, even in the motorized juicers, so the juice can be termed as ‘cold-pressed’.

These juicers are a lifesaver for those who do not have the time or energy to clean the juicer after use. Parts of most of the juicers are detachable so they can be easily assembled and disassembled, which makes them easy to clean.

How to choose a good juicer?

I took into consideration the following three factors while choosing a juicer that would help me make my lifestyle healthier:

1. Will it affect the grocery budget? Eating fruits and vegetables as compared to drinking their juice is much cheaper as one needs less (at most two apples) while eating them but many more are needed for extracting the juice (3 or 4 or maybe 5), so one must weigh the cost-effectiveness of buying a juicer as that might come with an increase in the grocery expenses. You might need to change your shopping habits by buying from the local markets to reduce the cost and also buying in greater quantity the produce that is in season to minimize the expenditure.

2.Preparation time before juicing: The fruits and vegetables need to be peeled, deseeded and cut before putting them in the juicer. Hence, juicing needs preparation time. Centrifugal juicers with big chutes can devour the bigger chunks but masticating or triturating juicers with smaller chutes need the ingredients to be cut into smaller pieces before being fed in the chutes.

Time can be saved in such cases if the ingredients are sliced as desired and stored for 3 or 4 days for juicing. This can be done once or twice a week so you don’t have to do that every time you think of having some juice.

3. Will cleaning the juicer be an inconvenience? Enjoying a refreshing glass of juice can soothe one’s mind and soul but the real problem is cleaning the juicer afterward.

Cleaning becomes easier if the type of juicer that one is using can be assembled and disassembled easily. This way, the pulp can be removed and the parts can be washed comfortably and quickly.  If you don’t want to clean the juicer immediately, put the parts in water so that the pulp doesn’t dry on the machine.

Now, folks, it up to you to choose a juicer that fits your decor, is easy to manage and provides refreshing drinks on the go. And since I have provided you the perfect list…
